Shipwrecks Around PNW

Join director Stephanie Lile for a look at the lives and deaths of some of our little-known local ships and boats that have wrecked and been "reborn" in sometimes curious and mysterious ways. Four case studies will surprise and delight, weaving stories that connect past to present and take us on a journey from Gig Harbor to Alaska.

Ship located near Roadside Park in Anacortes, Washington. The La Merced is an old merchant ship that was scuttled in 1966 and turned into a breakwater. Today, a small forest can be seen growing from its massive hulk. The best view is at low tide. (Photo by Roxane Mitchell @roxmitchell)
