New Line of Heritage Services, Resources Coming to Harbor History Museum

Fans of history and genealogy research have a new reason to get excited about visiting Harbor History Museum. In  April 2016, a new and exciting lineup of services and resources will be added to the Museum’s roster.

In partnership with the Tacoma-Pierce County Genealogical Society, the Museum will offer its very first Genealogy 101 workshop on April 21st at 6:00pm. The workshop will focus on basic genealogy research techniques and resources, as well as provide an introduction to using Ancestry.com. Instructors from the Tacoma-Pierce County Genealogical Society encourage attendees to bring questions about their own genealogy research. Following the Genealogy 101 workshop, Harbor History Museum will begin providing on-site access to Ancestry.com to the public. Ancestry.com is the premier genealogy research database, connecting genealogists to millions of records and family trees across the world. Information about Ancestry.com and its use at the Museum can be found by visiting the Museum’s website.

The Genealogy 101 workshop will be free and open to the public, but space is limited. To reserve a spot, visit the Museum’s website at www.harborhistorymuseum.org/events or call 253-858-6722.
