Our story began in 1964, when members of the American Association of University Women started a "history club" and shortly after the Peninsula Historical Society was formed. After numerous locations, countless volunteer hours, and the dedication of area community members the Harbor History Museum became a reality. Today the Harbor History Museum strives not only to preserve, collect, and share the rich history of the Gig Harbor Peninsula but also serve as a gathering space for the community.
The Harbor History Museum values the dedicated work of all of our volunteers, interns, board members, and staff. We are always accepting requests to get involved with the numerous opportunities at the Museum.
The Museum welcomes the opportunity to engage unique skills, interests, and life experiences in a wide range of positions and projects. Some projects currently in need of volunteers are the Shenandoah Restoration Project and docent shifts. For more information on museum projects and how to apply please email email@example.com.
The Museum accepts applications for internship year-round. Areas currently available for an internship position include Marketing, Collections, Programming, and Museum Administration. If interested in applying for a position please send a cover letter and resume to firstname.lastname@example.org.
We appreciate your interest in joining the Harbor History Museum team. We currently do not have any position openings.
